The Head of the NTT Provincial Tourism Office Wayan Darmawa said the regional government is preparing a standard operational procedure (SOP) for health protocols in all destination nodes.

"We agreed to prepare ourselves. At present, the guidelines do not yet exist. However (SOP) is being compiled into a complete design and communicated with the Task Force for the Covid-19 Handling Acceleration Task Force."

Wayan explained, all destinations in the national park strategic area will be opened simultaneously, but with special physical distancing conditions.

Every Foreign Tourist must show valid PCR Test Result from the Origin Country

For foreign travelers coming from other countries, as long as they can show valid PCR Test results, then they can access Bali and Komodo without quarantine, otherwise, they must conduct PCR Test in Indonesia and be quarantined in the appointed hotel after the PCR Test Result is available and stated negative exposure to the Coronavirus. PCR Result is usually available within 24 hours.

Also, as a preparation, the NTT Provincial Government has been communicating with associations engaged in the field of tourism to design a safe travel scheme. He explained security must be guaranteed starting from tourists leaving, arriving at the location, until when they return.

In terms of health, he guarantees that the local government has provided medical space until isolation, such as tourists who have contracted the coronavirus. "That is part of the conditions being compiled. The destination manager has also been taken into account (the isolation space), how much is needed, and what kind of services are prepared," he said.

In the opening ceremony, Wayan estimates that Labuan Bajo and Komodo National Park will be visited by local tourists first. While foreign tourists or tourists come gradually.

Wayan targets, until the end of the year, the number of tourists coming to the Labuan Bajo area and the Komodo National Park reach 1.6 million people. As many as 1 million people are domestic tourists, while the rest are tourists. "Currently, for foreign tourists, the visit is at 200 thousand. If on the island of Komodo in March the position is almost 20 thousand," he said.
