TURTLE POINT OR SIABA BESAR
IT'S A TURTLE CITY WITH PRISTINE CORAL AND WEALTH OF HIDDEN TREASURES
Turtle Point or some call it Turtle City, is actually an island called Siaba Besar Island which is part of the Komodo National Park. Famous for diving destinations, but you can also snorkel and relax on the beach. Famous for its massive coral garden.
There are two islands named Siaba. One is called Siaba Besar (the big Siaba) and the other is called Siaba Kecil (the small Siaba). Siaba Besar is a location where there are often sea turtle sightings. In addition, there are also many pelagic fish species such as manta rays, gorgeous cuttlefish, lionfish, and seahorses. Sometimes there's also barracuda sighting and whale sharks.
Siaba Island is an alternative when we cannot visit Manta Point if we don't get the slot or visitation permit from the official Komodo National Park because based on the year 2020 regulation, visitingManta Point is only allowed 30 ships per day and we must make a prior reservation, based on the first-come-first-serve method.
It takes about 2 hours one-way to reach Siaba Besar, and at least you need to take a 3 day 2-nights liveaboard trip or more. This island can also be used as an anchor point for Komodo Boat to spend overnight. The current or stream condition is sometimes weak and the waves are also minimal, making this place an ideal location for snorkeling, exploring and relaxing.
