EXCEPTIONALLY CALM AND SOOTHING SPOT NEAR LABUAN BAJO
Known as Kanawa Island. The area of this island is about 32 hectares, it takes about one and a half-hour from Labuan Bajo using our Komodo Boat. There are simple bungalows and a restaurant there, but we recommend you not to order there because the prices are quite expensive. Our chef will always prepare delicious food and refreshment for you at any time.
What's interesting about Kanawa Island is the waters and the beach around it is very soothing. You will be happy with this island because the beach is quite wide and there are many beautiful starfish and colorful fishes. People seem to not want to leave too soon while in here. The place is also a perfect spot for divers and snorkelers. Sometimes if you're lucky you can see baby mantas, wobbegongs, whale sharks, pigmy seahorse, scorpionfish and turtles.
The beach is also safe for small children due to plenty of wide spots for shallow areas where they can play with sand, starfish and small crabs. It feels really safe and comforting here. No high waves or strong currents. A perfect spot to relax after a long day of adrenaline-pumping adventure exploring the other parts of National Park.
There's a jetty on the island, but it's usually crowded with other boats, but don't worry because our boat will anchor in a place a little further. You can swim directly from our Komodo Boat or ask one of our crew to take you to the jetty or directly to the beach using a small motorboat dinghy. After you have finished your activities and want to relax on the boat, our crew will ready to pick you up again.
This island is our recommendation if you visit the Komodo National Park, and we can arrange an itinerary on the first or last day, depending on the duration of the trip you took.
